That went really well, didn't it? Apparently I don't come on line often enough to do a daily posting but I am enjoying sharing some of the music I love (even if no-one else does!) so I'm just goingto go ahead with Days 3 to 9 in this post:

Probably completely cliche of me to say it but really it has to be Vivaldi - Concerto No. 2 in G minor, Op. 8, RV 315, "L'estate" (Summer). Especially movement 3 Presto

Eric Clapton - Wonderful Tonight. A song that my ex-wife loved. Probably still does.
Seriously kids, don't marry a girl just because you knock her up. You'll still regret it 30 years later, even after 20 years of divorce!

Tchaikovsky - 1812 Overture

The Year 1812, festival overture in E♭ major, Op. 49, popularly known as the 1812 Overture. The rousing finale of this piece with cannon fire and and the brass fanfare has to be played loudly. It's incredible and never fails to make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

Ravel - Bolero

Boléro is a one-movement orchestral piece by the French composer Maurice Ravel (1875–1937). Originally composed as a ballet commissioned by Russian actress and dancer Ida Rubinstein, the piece, which premiered in 1928, is Ravel's most famous musical composition - mostly thanks to Torvil & Dean

Wagner - Die Walküre: Ride Of The Valkyries

I don't know about drive but this song reminds me of flying

Berlioz - Symphonie_fantastique

The symphony is a piece of program music that tells the story of an artist gifted with a lively imagination who has poisoned himself with opium in the depths of despair because of hopeless, unrequited love. Because classical is dull and boring hah!

Copland - Rodeo: Hoedown

About Me

I'm Jack, a recent retiree looking for a new hobby. Apparently 'annoying my girlfriend' isn't the best use of my days. Her opinion, not mine

I'm a life-long science-fiction and superheroes fan, and a voracious reader. I enjoy movies, fishing, astronomy, and gardening.

I live in Wales with my wife, our girlfriend and an ever growing collection of four-legged friends.
