Moving day
Aug. 25th, 2017 10:10 pmIt's here. Moving day. Well, in about 12 hours. All our worldly possessions will be hopefully transported from here to there. We're spending tomorrow night in a hotel then the unpacking begins on Sunday - it's a 4-5 hour drive down and none of us relish the idea of starting the task in the evening.
We've got help coming to unpack and organise. Almost like an unpacking party. My son, Samantha's brother, some friends Jason, Joe and Ben. Samantha will be supervising and directing. I've been told by her not to carry anything heavy. Lucy's really quite stressed and it's triggering her depression. I wish there was something I could do to help her but I know she won't really relax until we're all settled. Planning/organising helps calm her down and we do have plenty of lists and checkboxes of what goes where and what's in each box so that may be her main role. Possibly looking after the animals who are also freaking out.
I'm not sure yet how we're taking the animals. We've got two cars and Samantha's not able to drive so her brother's driving her car down. My best guess right now is the cats in the car with them, the dogs with me. Lucy can pick which car she wants to travel in.
The main thing right now is to try and get a good nights sleep. Good night, internet. See you at the end of next week when the internet is back up and running.
